Michelangelo (1564 – 1475) was a famous painter, sculptor and architect during the Renaissance period.
He is best known for his artwork on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, which took him four years to complete. Michelangelo was also responsible for designing the iconic David statue and the layout of St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome.
Even though Michelangelo achieved a great deal of success during his lifetime, he was a notoriously difficult person to work with. He was known for being temperamental and stubborn, and he often clashed with those in charge of commissioning his work.
Despite his challenges, Michelangelo’s talent and genius are undeniable. He is widely considered to be one of the most important artists in history, and his work continues to inspire people all over the world.
