The Basquiat Family Collection is a group of paintings, drawings, and other works by American artist Jean-Michel Basquiat. The collection is owned by the artist’s family and was exhibited at the Brooklyn Museum in 2017.
The Basquiat Family Collection includes some of the artist’s most famous works, such as “Untitled (Skull)” and “Untitled (Boxer)”. The collection also includes a number of Basquiat’s less well-known works, such as his early drawings from the 1970s.
The Brooklyn Museum exhibition was the first time that the Basquiat Family Collection had been shown to the public. The exhibition was organized by the museum’s curator of modern and contemporary art, Barry Schwabsky.
